ILETE - Initiative for Low Energy Training in Europe

Objective: Dividing by 5 the energy consumption in buildings!

Since the beginning of year 2008, ILETE consortium is implementing an ambitious project dedicated to training and know-how exchange related to energy efficiency in buildings. Until mid of 2010, ILETE consortium, consisting of 8 partners from old and new member states, will work on one objective: Divide by 5 energy consumption in buildings!

This project was selected in the frame of the European "Intelligent Energy Europe" programme. ILETE budget is around € 1M with a co-funding from the European Union of nearly 50%.

Three main actions for ILETE implementation

  • Initial training for architect and engineer students
  • Vocational training for building professionals
  • Communication and dissemination of information on high-energy efficiency in buildings for general public, policy makers, professionals...

This European network, implemented at a regional level, targets the buildings sector through training programmes and communication. Its goal is to bring awareness on the opportunities and on the growing importance of low energy consumption in buildings across Europe, today and for the future.

Expected results of ILETE project

  • Organisation of 16 seminars for some 800 students
  • Training of 500 professionals via the Internet platform
  • Dissemination of a low energy consumption documents for each target group

The outcomes of the action will be developed appropriately to allow transfer to other European regions.
